What to know about this route
Hoboken, Jersey City, Montclair, the Oranges — the classic square-footage upgrade. It's technically an interstate move, but local crews run it daily. Budget for tunnel/bridge tolls in the quote and check your new town's parking-permit rules for the truck; Hoboken in particular requires reserved street parking arranged days ahead.
Getting a real quote
Long-distance pricing is set by inventory (what's actually on the truck), not square footage — so a real quote requires a video or in-home survey. Any mover who gives you a firm number in a five-minute phone call is giving you a number that will change. Our partner does a proper survey and puts the price in writing as a binding quote. Ask for the USDOT number and verify it on the FMCSA website — thirty seconds that filters out most of the industry's bad actors.
